MUDRIVE es una banda de rock alternativo / grunge de Montevideo, Uruguay
formada en 2018 con el objetivo de traer los sonidos pesados, oscuros y
melancólicos del movimiento grunge de los años ’90 a la actualidad. La banda está
formada por Sofía May en vocales, Luciano Mouriño en guitarra, Leandro de los
Santos en el bajo e Ignacio Carrion en la batería. Durante el primer año, Mudrive se
ha dedicado a componer, grabar y a producir de forma independiente, sin ayuda
externa a la banda, varias canciones las cuales irán saliendo a la luz de a poco. El
sonido de Mudrive consiste de riffs pesados, una distorsión cruda y vocales
poderosas que por momentos te patean el pecho y por otros se sienten como una
caricia, trayendo a la memoria así varios actos del movimiento Grunge nacido en
Seattle, pero sin perder nunca la huella del sonido del siglo XXI en la producción.

MUDRIVE is an alternative rock / grunge band from Montevideo, Uruguay formed in
2018 with a goal in mind: to bring the dark, heavy and melancholic sounds of the 90’s
grunge movement back to our days. The band is Sofi May on vocals, Luciano Mouriño
on guitar, Leandro de los Santos on bass guitar and Ignacio Carrion on drums.
Mudrive spent its first year as a band writing, composing, recording and self
producing a bunch of songs that will be released one by one in the span of the next
few months. The band’s sound consists of heavy riffs, raw distortion and a powerful
female soprano voice that soars above, at times feeling like a kick on the chest, and
at other times as a soft caress. Mudrive manages to bring to memory some of the
classic 90’s grunge acts from Seattle, but never losing the essence of modern 21st
Century heavy rock sound.
